We provide a range of services and support such as:

Drop-in sessions


  • Who: Refugee families from anywhere in the world (and hosts of Ukrainian guests)
  • Where: Maybridge Community Church 77 The Strand, Worthing, BN12 6DR.
  • When: once a month on Monday afternoons

An opportunity for families to get together and socialise. There are free children’s activities and a team ready to help with form-filling and translation. We can answer your questions and put you in touch with others if we can’t help.

We’ve created a welcome pack for refugees new to the area. This gives general information about healthcare, benefits and things local to Worthing such as transport and places to visit.

English lessons


We can help you find local classes for English lessons or provide volunteer teachers

to teach you on your own or with a few others.

Our volunteer translators would love to help you communicate at:

Befrienders


We have a team of people who would love to help you get to know the area, take you out for coffee and chat to practice your English and be a friend, or help with other things you may need.

Events and activities


We hold events in the summer and at Christmas as a chance for refugees and volunteers to come together and celebrate.

Refugee week


International Refugee Week is held every year in June. It celebrates the contributions, creativity and resilience of refugees. It aims to bring people together and bring about a deeper understanding of refugee experiences.  To celebrate we hold different events each year.
